Job description

We are looking for a Head Cook to prepare nourishing and well-presented meals. The role involves creating seasonal menus based on input from residents, families, and management, considering dietary requirements, and ensuring the kitchen complies with all regulations.

Rate of Pay: £15.55 per hour

Contract Type: Permanent

Contract Hours: 40 Hours

Location: Borehamwood - The Radley

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Compiling seasonal menus with input from residents, families, and the Home Manager, ensuring meals are suitable for residents' backgrounds, cultures, and dietary needs.
  • Delivering excellence in meal times and dining experiences, including presentation.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and hygienic appearance of the kitchen, and ensuring food standards meet health & safety regulations.
  • Managing financial controls and adhering to budgets set by the company.
  • Managing and developing the kitchen team, including supervision, appraisals, and induction of new staff.

Essential Skills, Characteristics, and Experience:

  • Must hold a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or above.
