About PLOW

PLOW is an elevated "Fine Farm to Table" restaurant located in the charming village of Cambridge, approximately 16 miles southeast of Madison. Situated in a historic mid-1800s Grist Mill in the heart of the downtown district, PLOW attracts diners from nearby cities such as Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, and Rockford. The village offers attractions like Lake Ripley, CamRock trails, Rowe Pottery, Dancing Goat Distillery, and local wineries, making it a destination for visitors.

Recent Developments

Following recent renovations, PLOW is undergoing a soft re-opening as we build the right team. The expanded back-of-house prep area, addition of a cigar and bourbon section for events and catering, and longer hours are part of our growth. We seek candidates interested in part-time roles with the potential to become full-time in spring when the dining room reopens, including positions for line cooks, pizza and salad station staff, and eventually a head chef to lead PLOW's growth.

Our Offerings

PLOW features a full bar with craft cocktails, indoor and patio seating, and a menu focused on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients from our farm in Madison. Menu highlights include vegetarian lasagna, New York Strip, fish fry, wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, and smoked prime rib cooked in our outdoor CookShack FEC500 smoker, providing a unique culinary experience.

Opportunities and Responsibilities
  • As the current owner-chef and operator, I will assist in training the kitchen team and facilitate the onboarding of the next executive chef. Candidates with previous experience in such roles or those exploring a culinary career are encouraged to apply. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with Chef/Owner Charles Fiesel, gaining insight into farm-to-table culinary practices from farm management to seasonal dish creation.
  • Experience in baking and desserts is a plus.
  • Preparation of pizza, lasagna, and other dishes in a 900-degree wood-fired oven.
  • Current hours are Thursday to Saturday, 5-9 pm, with potential for additional prep hours outside these times, and plans to add Saturday and Sunday brunch and more days.
Additional Details

We are open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays weekly, with special occasions and holidays. Our goal is to establish a niche "Fine Farm to Table" experience for the wedding industry by 2025.
