Job summary

Runwood Homes is seeking a proactive Head Chef to join our Hospitality team. You will deliver hotel and restaurant standard meals in a residential care setting, with autonomy to create nutritious menus while liaising with residents.

You will lead a kitchen team, manage budgets, and ensure high-quality, safe, and compliant food service for our residents. The role requires an Intermediate/Advanced Food Hygiene certificate, HACCP knowledge, and experience in achieving food margins and costing

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a catering environment.
• Ability to implement methods for special dietary needs.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work within the agreed company budget.
• Train kitchen staff on dish specification and budget control.
• Manage stock in the kitchen.
• Inspire and motivate the team to meet diet and residents' expectations.
• Lead by example and set high standards.
• Meet with management monthly to ensure dietary requirements are met.
• Train and develop the team to deliver meals to specification.
• Ensure food is cooked to safe temperatures and taste-tested.
• Ensure storage meets health and safety requirements.
• Deliver and audit kitchen standards.
• Comply with Health and Safety policy and staff training.
