Job summary
Aurem Care is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the in-house kitchen team within a care home setting. You will orchestrate all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring meals meet nutritional and quality standards, are delivered on time, and tailored to residents’ needs.
You will recruit and develop staff, manage budgets, and implement robust hygiene controls while liaising with nursing staff and Home Manager to support residents and families. This role is full-time and on-site.
Qualifications
- Experience as Head Chef in a care home or similar setting.
- Ability to design balanced menus meeting varied dietary needs.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate kitchen operations to meet standards and deadlines.
- Implement kitchen controls: menus, hygiene, safety, staffing, cleaning, waste.
- Recruit, supervise, train and develop kitchen staff.
- Manage food orders and stock levels, ensuring cost control.
- Maintain HACCP documentation and conduct monthly audits.
- Engage residents to tailor meals to preferences and dietary needs.
