Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Head Chef for Milton Court Care Home in Milton Keynes. You will lead a culinary team to deliver nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals for residents within budget.

The role involves planning modified diets per IDDSI, placing orders with approved suppliers, supervising kitchen and Host team, and upholding safe working practices. A DBS disclosure check and right to work in the UK will be required.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience managing a culinary team in the care or hospitality sector.
• Catering qualification – City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ.
• Passion and commitment to delivering high-quality culinary standards to residents.
• Ability to control a budget.

Responsibilities

• Preparing modified diets per IDDSI guidance.
• Placing food orders with approved suppliers within budget limits.
• Supervising kitchen staff and Host team; instructing unqualified staff.
• Practising safe systems of work and risk assessment.
