Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Head Chef for Aldridge Care Home to lead a culinary team and deliver high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals for residents within budget. You’ll oversee menu planning, dietary modifications and staff development.

The role requires two years’ management experience in care or hospitality, relevant catering qualifications, and a proven ability to manage costs while maintaining excellent standards. DBS checks and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience managing a culinary team in the care or hospitality sectors.
• Relevant catering qualification – City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ.
• Ability to control a budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the culinary team to deliver nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals within budget.
• Prepare modified diets as required and ensure food choices meet residents’ needs.
• Place orders with approved suppliers and maintain stock levels and quality within budget limits.
• Supervise kitchen staff and trainees, providing instruction and ensuring safe working practices.
