Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Head Chef for Aldridge Care Home. You will lead a culinary team to deliver nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals for residents, while working within budget and upholding our care standards.

The role requires at least two years’ experience managing a kitchen team in care or hospitality, a relevant catering qualification (City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ), and budget control ability. DBS check and right to work in the UK apply.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience managing a culinary team in care or hospitality.
• Ability to control a budget and work within financial constraints.
• Hold a relevant catering qualification – City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ.

Responsibilities

• Preparing modified diets that are appealing and nutritionally balanced.
• Placing food orders with approved suppliers within budget limits.
• Supervising kitchen staff and hosting team, instructing and demonstrating cooking tasks to junior staff.
• Practising safe systems of work and risk assessment for residents, visitors and staff.
