Job summary

Cheatham's School of Music in Manchester is seeking a Head Chef to lead a fast-paced, high-volume contract catering operation for up to 400 meals across multiple service areas.

You will drive menu planning, food quality, safety, cost control and event support, while coordinating daily service and developing the kitchen team to perform at their best.

Qualifications

• Experience in busy high-volume contract catering.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven ability to manage food safety and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a high-volume kitchen operation.
• Oversee menu planning, cost control and procurement.
• Ensure food safety, quality and compliance across all service periods.
• Coordinate large-scale service and events for up to 400 people.
• Recruit, induct and develop kitchen staff; address performance.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovations in menus and service.
• Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Support and lead the Chef Development team for Independents by Sodexo.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to project planning and delivery.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and Sodexo standards.
