Job summary

Chorlton High School is seeking a Catering Manager to lead a busy school kitchen and a team of about 20 staff, ensuring high standards of service, hygiene and efficiency. You will report to the Head of Catering, require NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking (or working towards) and demonstrate strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 6:30am–2:30pm, term time only plus 5 INSET days, with a starting salary of £27,668 per

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking (or working towards).
• Significant operational experience within a professional catering environment.
• Proven experience leading and managing a large team, with ability to motivate and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a catering team of ~20 staff, including recruitment, induction, training, attendance, and performance management.
• Deliver high-quality, cost-effective catering service in line with SLAs, contractual requirements and legislation.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety and COSHH at all times.
• Oversee daily operation of the school kitchen, maintain high standards of food quality and customer service.
