Job summary

Willowbrook Care Home in Birmingham is seeking a proactive Head Chef to take full ownership of the kitchen in a specialist complex care setting. You will lead from the front to deliver high quality, nutritious meals tailored to residents with complex needs.

You will manage menu planning, food preparation, stock control and budget management while ensuring adherence to food safety and dietary requirements, driving team performance and a supportive working environment.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 (or equivalent), or working towards.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Proven experience leading or managing a kitchen.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Good understanding of dietary requirements, including modified or specialist diets.
• Proactive, reliable and quality focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the kitchen in a specialist complex care setting.
• Lead from the front to deliver high quality, nutritious meals.
• Plan menus, meals prep, stock control, compliance and team performance.
• Manage stock, ordering and budgets while minimising waste and maintaining quality.
