Job summary

HR-CL Limited is seeking a skilled Care Home Head Chef in Birmingham (B1) to lead the kitchen and prepare nutritious meals for residents.

The role offers daytime hours with no late nights, a supportive team, and ongoing, stable work in a community-focused setting. You will manage menu planning, stock, and compliance with hygiene standards while leading kitchen staff.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Head Chef, ideally in care homes, healthcare, or contract catering.
• Strong understanding of nutrition and dietary requirements.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Solid knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Caring, patient and flexible approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious menus for residents.
• Lead and support kitchen staff to maintain high standards.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
• Manage stock control, ordering, and portion control.
• Adapt menus for dietary requirements (e.g. allergies, diabetic needs).

• Adapt menus for specific dietary requirements (e.g. soft food, allergies, diabetic needs)
