Job summary

Willowbrook Care Home, part of Willinbrook Healthcare in Birmingham, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our specialist complex care kitchen. You will help with food preparation, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and follow food safety procedures to meet residents' dietary needs.

Join a supportive team in a busy clinical setting. Previous kitchen experience is welcome but not essential; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or food preparation experience is desirable but not essential.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and food safety practices.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen.
• Reliable, hardworking and positive approach.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a care environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and ensure food safety.
• Maintain cleanliness and follow food safety procedures.
• Prepare meals meeting dietary needs, including modified diets.
• Support with deliveries, storage and kitchen organisation.
• Contribute to smooth day-to-day running and positive dining experience for residents.
