We have an exciting opportunity for a collaborative, inclusive, and passionate Head Chef to join our team.

You will be responsible for the food operation and managing the kitchen for a busy call centre business as part of a team of 6. You will have a commis chef supporting you and will work closely with the location manager. The site population varies between 600-1000 in a 24-hour period. We serve on average 90-130 hot meals at lunch. Breakfast is steady, with our Friday full English cooked offer being very popular. We are open for all-day grazing. This role is ideal for a sous chef seeking their first head chef position.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Head Chef to establish themselves in the food service industry and set a new standard for workplace hospitality.

Job Description

WHAT WILL KEEP YOU BUSY:

  • Plan, prepare, cook, and present food to required standards
  • Enhance the company’s reputation for excellent food and service with clients and customers
  • Control portion sizes and monitor waste
  • Manage supplies, carry out stock takes, and food rotation procedures
  • Maintain records related to food production and supplier information
  • Ensure Health and Safety and Food Safety Standards are upheld
  • Set objectives and oversee the daily running of the kitchen
  • Assess employee performance, identify training needs, and recognize potential
  • Hold regular team meetings to communicate targets, standards, and information

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Passion for food
  • Good secondary education
  • NVQ qualification or equivalent
  • Progressive catering experience
  • Basic and Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificates
  • Strong supervisory skills
  • Customer service passion
