Head Bartender – Gold Notting Hill

Inspired by the area’s rich cultural history and artistic eclecticism, Gold is informal and honest, with a humble menu focused on generous, seasonal plates cooked in wood ovens and served to share. Set over four floors, Gold offers laid-back dining and drinking, both indoors and out — from vibrant street-level dining to a lush garden and intimate late-night bar.

The Role
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Head Bartender to lead our bar team. You’ll be hands-on behind the bar, ensuring service runs smoothly, drinks are delivered to spec, and guests have an exceptional experience every time. This is a great opportunity for a creative and driven bartender looking to step up, lead a team, and work with a drinks programme that celebrates craft cocktails, natural wines, and low-intervention producers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead by example to ensure every guest receives warm, attentive service at the bar.
• Ensure all cocktails, wines, and drinks are served correctly to spec with consistency and care.
• Maintain bar cleanliness, organisation, and stock levels at all times.
• Train and support the bar team to develop their skills and knowledge.
• Collaborate with the management team on seasonal cocktail menus and creative drinks initiatives.
• Manage bar prep, service set-up, and close-down procedures efficiently.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
• Monitor and minimise waste, supporting cost control and stock management.

About You

• Previous experience in a high-volume bar, ideally as a Head Bartender or Senior Bartender.
• Strong leadership skills — able to motivate, train, and inspire the team.
• Passionate about craft cocktails, natural wine, and innovative drinks.
• A natural host — confident engaging with guests, making recommendations, and creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere.
• Cool under pressure, with excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, with a strong work ethic and a ‘no ego’ approach — you get stuck in and lead from the front.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and late nights.
