Job summary

Weston College Group in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a HE Student Engagement & Compliance Officer to support the student experience across all modes of study and help ensure quality and compliance in Higher Education.

You will work within the Higher Education Directorate to strengthen student partnerships, monitor quality, and promote volunteering and enrichment activities whilst upholding OfS expectations and UCW strategies.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Highly motivated, setting and achieving high standards for yourself.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills; the ability to plan ahead and manage multiple deadlines to prioritise workloads and respond to planned and ad-hoc demands.
• Computer literacy including use of Access Databases and Excel Spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Representing the student body on key committees and supporting student representatives to undertake this role as required by the management team, maintaining an independent student voice at these bodies.
• To act on behalf of students in the development and review of the policies, procedures and processes which contribute to educational enhancement and quality assurance as directed.
• Ensuring the College is compliant with the Office for Students (OfS) expectations regarding Student Engagement, and to further develop areas of good practice.
• Implementing the UCW Student Engagement Strategy, reviewing its effectiveness, ensuring all students, on all modes of study, have a voice through student representation and that Student Staff Liaison Committees take place.

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week.

In this role you will be:

Working within the Higher Education (HE) Directorate; the post holder will be responsible for continually enhancing the experience of HE students by engaging them as partners in their learning, and acting on their suggestions for improvements. The role also requires quality monitoring and audit of key documents to ensure students have access to the information required for success. In addition, the post holder will support enrichment activities and promoting volunteering opportunities to support University Centre Weston's approach to Educational Gain.
