Job summary

Annyalla Chicks Ltd is seeking an Assistant Hatchery Manager to support day-to-day hatchery operations, uphold welfare, biosecurity, health and safety, and drive productivity. You will share leadership with another Assistant Hatchery Manager and help grow the hatchery operation across sites.

You will assist with workforce planning, training, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain high standards and business performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in hatchery, poultry, agricultural, food production or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of poultry welfare, biosecurity and industry standards is advantageous.
• Experience supervising and motivating teams in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain understanding of poultry production and hatchery operations.
• Support day-to-day hatchery management to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Assist with hatchery production activities focusing on chick production, quality and welfare.
• Monitor hatchery hygiene and biosecurity compliance.
• Analyse hatchery performance data and communicate with sister hatcheries and farms in the UK.
• Oversee chick take-off, grading and dispatch activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping across hatchery facilities.
• Promote bird welfare in line with policies and industry best practice.
• Support Health & Safety policies and safe working practices.
• Help train and develop hatchery employees for operational effectiveness.
