South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust seeks a HART Training and Development Manager to plan, develop and monitor training for all HART personnel. You will deliver programmes in line with NARU standards and work with the SORT/EPRR and Clinical Education teams to integrate learning across SECAmb.
The role requires engagement in on-call duties (remunerated) and may include acting as Tactical Advisor and National Interagency Liaison Officer.
The Hazardous Area Response Teams (HART) comprised of specially recruited personnel who are trained and equipped to provide ambulance response to high-risk and complex emergency situations. Applications are invited from individuals with experience in the design and delivery of education and training programmes. Previous HART / Ambulance Service experience is not a mandatory requirement as training can be provided where necessary. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of all HART training and education for HART staff within SECAmb in line with the standards set out by the National Ambulance Resilience Unit (NARU). And will be responsible for developing, preparing, managing appropriate high-quality education & training programmes related to all HART capabilities in line with contracted National Standards.
The HART Training and Development Manager will plan, develop, deliver and monitor the training and educational programmes for all new and existing HART personnel. They will deliver all relevant training relating to all HART capabilities in line with the requirements set out by the National Ambulance Resilience Unit (NARU) and our commissioners. The post holder will work closely with the trusts SORT/ EPRR and Clinical Education teams to integrate learning across the organisation. They will be required to attain enhanced security clearance and will be expected to participate in an on call rota (remunerated in line with a4c), act as a Tactical Advisor and as a National Interagency Liaison Officer (NILO) on behalf of the trust. Full training will be give as well as a number of other courses such as Tactical Commander, Radiation Protection Supervisor.
Other than in exceptional circumstances, the starting salary for staff new to the NHS will be the bottom point of the band to which they have been appointed. Please note that the salary range noted on the vacancy is in line with agenda for change (AFC) pay scales. All successful applicants would be placed automatically at the bottom of the banding, unless proven, relevant NHS or equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
Following the revision of current national legislation (Vaccine as a Condition of Deployment), the Trust has reviewed our requirements relating to staff uptake of the SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) vaccination. Going forward, for patient facing positions, we strongly recommend that new starters will be appropriately vaccinated unless medically exempt in order to offer greater protection against exposure to the virus for front line staff.
