Job summary

Thales Group in the UK is recruiting a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead a small multi-disciplinary team of 6‑8 engineers across hardware development, including design, integration and verification, with travel between Cheadle, Crawley and Templecombe.

The role requires experience in systems/hardware engineering within a regulated environment, proven technical leadership, and the ability to manage tasks and resources; security clearance (SC) is a condition of employment and relocation support

Qualifications

• Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a highly regulated environment.
• Delivery of projects/programmes with lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with tasking and resource allocation.
• Experience with Jira or other agile management tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional leadership to hardware engineering team and manage 6‑8 engineers across hardware development lifecycle.
• Oversee work packages within cost, schedule, performance and quality constraints.
• Define hardware development cycle and allocate responsibilities across team members.
• Collaborate with Solution Engineering Manager and Architects to align architecture and interfaces.
• Travel between Cheadle, Crawley and Templecombe as required.
