Job summary

Thales Group is seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead a small multi-disciplinary engineering team and manage work packages across Templecombe, Crawley, or Cheadle on a hybrid basis. The role requires prior leadership experience and familiarity with tasking and resource allocation for high‑complexity programmes.

You will guide hardware development activities, define architecture, and ensure delivery within schedule and budget while coordinating with Solution Engineering and Architects.

Qualifications

• Experience in systems, hardware or electronics engineering in a highly regulated environment.
• Proven technical leadership of small teams or programmes.
• Delivery experience in projects or programmes is desirable.
• Experience with engineering lifecycle processes.
• Familiarity with project tracking tools (ideally Jira) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Define the Hardware development cycle in alignment with upper/same level elements.
• Tailor the hardware engineering environment to company and project requirements.
• Allocate responsibilities to individual contributors.
• Participate in the specification of the functions and interfaces of products.
• Participate in architecture definition and the allocation of functions to components.
