Job summary

Peaple Talent is seeking a Hardware Engineer specializing in high-voltage power electronics. You will lead design and verification from concept through prototyping to production introduction, delivering HV power supplies and associated analogue/digital circuits for critical infrastructure and defence.

You will manage complete engineering projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across Production, Quality, and customers to ensure robust, compliant designs and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree, HND/HNC in Electronic, Electrical, or Power Electronics Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in power electronics development, ideally with DC-DC converters.
• Hands-on prototype debugging and design verification.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and technical leadership skills.
• Must hold British Citizenship and be eligible for BPSS screening.

Responsibilities

• Design HV power supplies, power conversion systems, and magnetics.

We are recruiting for a Hardware Engineer to join a leading manufacturer of high-voltage power supplies, leading the design and verification of complex power electronics. The role covers everything from concept architecture through to prototyping, testing, and production introduction.

You'll lead complete engineering projects, developing high-voltage power supplies, analogue/digital circuits, and magnetics for critical infrastructure and defence. If you're looking for genuine technical ownership across the full product lifecycle, this is a fantastic opportunity.

Key responsibilities:

• Design HV power supplies, power conversion systems, and magnetics
• Develop new products using schematic capture, PCB layout (KiCAD or equivalent), and simulation tools
• Execute testing, verification, and fault-finding on prototype equipment
• Produce detailed design records, BOMs, calculations, and technical reports
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Procurement, and customers
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers

Key Requirements:

• Degree, HND/HNC, or equivalent in Electronic, Electrical, or Power Electronics Engineering
• 4+ years' of experience in power electronics development, ideally with DC-DC converters.
• Hands-on experience with component selection, prototype debugging, and design verification
• Strong analytical, documentation, and technical leadership skills
• Must hold British Citizenship and be eligible for BPSS security screening due to the nature of the defence project
