Job summary

Insignis Talent in London is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer with hands-on hardware design experience and a track record of taking products from concept through to manufacture.

The role covers design, development and validation of electronic hardware within a multidisciplinary R&D team, supporting products throughout the complete engineering lifecycle. You'll work on analogue and digital hardware and power electronics up to 500V+.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Mid-level experience in electronics hardware design and development.
  • Experience taking electronic products through the complete design lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of power electronics and DC-DC converters.
  • Experience with PCB design and simulation tools (Altium, Zuken, PSpice, LTspice).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and validate electronic hardware across the lifecycle.
  • Take products from concept to manufacture.
  • Create schematics, documentation and test specifications.
  • Support EMC, environmental and product qualification testing.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and QA for production readiness.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot design and production challenges.

£65,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits | South East London

We're looking for an Electronics Design Engineer with solid hands-on experience in hardware design and a track record of taking products from initial concept through to manufacture.

Whether your experience is at 500V or several kilovolts, we're interested in engineers who understand the principles of high-voltage design and enjoy tackling technically challenging problems.

The Role

Working within a multidisciplinary R&D team, you'll be responsible for the design, development and validation of electronic hardware, supporting products throughout the complete engineering lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop analogue and digital electronic hardware.
  • Take products through the full design lifecycle, from concept and simulation through to prototyping, testing, qualification and industrialisation.
  • Produce schematics, technical documentation and test specifications.
  • Support EMC, environmental and product validation testing.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality and Production teams to support successful NPI and product introduction.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to ongoing product development.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and support the resolution of design and production challenges.
About You
You'll ideally have:
  • A degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Mid-level experience in electronics hardware design and development.
  • Experience taking electronic products through the complete design lifecycle.
  • Practical knowledge of power electronics, power supplies and/or DC-DC converters.
  • Experience with PCB design and simulation tools such as Altium, Zuken, PSpice or LTspice.
  • Experience supporting EMC testing and product qualification.
  • High-voltage electronics, ideally around 500V+.
  • Closed-loop control systems.
  • Knowledge of IEC 62368-1 or similar electrical/electronic safety standards.
