Job summary

Alstom is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to shape the future of electronics hardware for a variety of systems. You will report to the Head of Engineering and ensure designs meet specifications while collaborating with internal teams and external customers.

You will drive high standards in health and safety, efficiency, cost and service, using best practice design methods and continuous improvement tools across projects at onsite locations.

Qualifications

• Electrical design disciplines including analogue and digital circuits.
• Understanding health and safety and quality standards is required.
• Experience in electronics hardware design using best practice methods.
• Education in Electronics Engineering to degree level or equivalent.
• Driven, disciplined, team player with clear communication and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide hardware engineering support for a range of electronics systems.
• Liaise with production, project teams and external customers.
• Lead or assist in technical investigations into hardware challenges.
• Recommend changes to improve reliability and performance.
• Represent Engineering in meetings and collaborate on solutions.
• Support introduction of new hardware designs from planning to implementation.
• Ensure compliance with UK Health and Safety Regulations.
• Ensure compliance with ALSTOM Electronics quality standards.
• Achieve KPI targets for Right First Time, efficiency, cost and service.
