Job summary

Alstom in Derby is seeking an Electrical Design & Schematics Engineer to design the train’s electrical architecture, cubicle layouts and wiring routes. You will specify electrical apparatus and produce PPS and detailed apparatus specifications to ensure correct implementation throughout the project lifecycle.

You’ll deliver complete electrical deliverables for baselines, manage configurations, and contribute to RoE and subcontractor coordination across a multi-site environment.

Qualifications

• Electrical and/or electrotechnical engineering knowledge is required for the role.
• Experience in electrical component selection and calculations.
• Experience with E3 tool is desirable and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design the train’s electrical architecture, cubicle layouts and wiring routes.
• Produce PPS and detailed apparatus specifications to support implementation.
• Deliver complete electrical deliverables for baselines on time.
• Manage configuration and RoE across project activities and sub‑contractors.
