Job summary

Actian is seeking a highly technical Tech Lead to guide a small feature team. You will write excellent backend code, architect scalable systems, and lead by example in a SaaS environment using Scala, Python, and TypeScript. You will leverage AI coding agents to boost team output while maintaining quality.

You will own the technical execution, mentor a 3–4 engineers, collaborate with product managers, and ensure production health in a cloud-native setup. Flexible remote/hybrid work offered.

Qualifications

• Deep backend development experience
• Strong Scala production experience
• Experience using AI coding agents in daily workflow
• Prefers shipping features over administrative work

Responsibilities

• Hands-on coding and execution of complex backend features
• Guide team using Scala, Python, and TypeScript for robust backend data systems
• Promote and coach AI coding agent usage to increase velocity
• Own the technical execution and product value through design choices
• Oversee SaaS delivery, multi-tenant cloud scalability, and production readiness
• Mentor 3–4 engineers through pair programming and code reviews
• Collaborate with Product Managers to refine features and milestones
• Maintain production health and rapidly fix issues when needed
