Job summary

Tech4 is seeking a pragmatic Lead Software Engineer to evolve and extend their platform while guiding technical direction and supporting team development. You will work closely with Product Managers and Designers to take ideas from inception through to production, building the right solutions for customers.

The role blends hands-on coding with 20-30% time on technical leadership, architecture, mentoring and shaping team practices.

Qualifications

• Deep experience building scalable, secure cloud-based systems.
• Proven track record across legacy and greenfield codebases.
• Strong system design fundamentals: scalability, performance, distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction and guide architecture for AI-enabled platform.
• Mentor engineers and support 1:1s, performance reviews and coaching.
• Collaborate with Product and Design from discovery to production.
• Define guardrails and validation gates for AI-generated code.
• Develop and operate software across the platform with an AI-enhanced approach.
• Shape platform architecture for AI tooling and LLM integrations.
