Underwood West Academy is offering an apprenticeship for a Property Maintenance Operative in Crewe. You will learn hands-on tasks and perform routine maintenance, alongside specialist training sessions provided by Cheshire College South and West.

The job is 32.5 hours per week for a 2-year period, with block release to Macclesfield College every 6 weeks. The role includes DBS checks and progression opportunities within school facilities management.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths (grade 4/C+) required.
• DBS check required.
• Apprenticeship is block-release to Macclesfield College every 6 weeks.
• Can be adjusted to reflect existing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain the school building, including minor repairs (electrical, plumbing, glazing).
• Monitor site security systems and manage opening/closing of the building.
• Assist the Site Manager to uphold Health and Safety standards.
• Carry out cleaning duties and manage resources efficiently.
• Record and report information; inspect own work against specifications.
