Job summary

Cranleigh STEM & Sustainability Recruitment is assisting an established manufacturing business in Rugby to recruit a Quality Control Chemist. The role focuses on hands-on laboratory work, performing QC tests, preparing CoAs, and supporting production and technical teams to keep products within specifications.

Ideal candidates hold a chemistry degree with 2+ years in industrial QC, with practical GC-MS experience.

Qualifications

• Practical GC-MS experience essential.
• Chemistry degree or equivalent laboratory experience.
• Ideally 2+ years' experience within an industrial QC laboratory.
• Knowledge of UV-Vis and other analytical techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with solvents and knowledge of REACH, CLP and COSHH advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out QC testing of raw materials and finished products using GC-MS and other analytical techniques.
• Analyse results and prepare Certificates of Analysis (CoAs).
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Investigate quality issues and support corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and COSHH.
• Work closely with Production and Technical teams to support site operations.
