Job summary

Cranleigh STEM is seeking a QC Chemist for a hands-on laboratory role in Oldbury, West Midlands. You will perform QC testing on raw materials and finished products, using GC-MS and other analytical techniques, and prepare Certificates of Analysis to ensure products meet specifications.

The role requires practical GC-MS experience, a chemistry degree or equivalent lab experience, and ideally 2+ years in an industrial QC lab.

Qualifications

• Practical GC-MS experience is essential.
• Chemistry degree or equivalent laboratory experience.
• Ideally 2+ years' experience within an industrial QC laboratory.
• Knowledge of UV-Vis and other analytical techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with solvents and knowledge of REACH, CLP and COSHH would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out QC testing of raw materials and finished products using GC-MS and other analytical techniques
• Analyse results and prepare Certificates of Analysis (CoAs)
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Investigate quality issues and support corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and COSHH
• Work closely with Production and Technical teams to support site operations
