Job summary

Pimlico Banks are recruiting an Infrastructure & Network Engineer to join the IT Infrastructure team in Birmingham. This hands-on contract role covers a large estate, supporting upgrades across networking, security, virtualization and Linux servers.

We value strong networking, Linux experience and willingness to travel to other sites. The role is primarily onsite with some out-of-hours work and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Solid commercial infrastructure & network engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing and switching.
• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting network equipment.
• Experience with Linux servers.
• Comfortable with physical server hardware and security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support network upgrade and modernisation projects.
• Configure and troubleshoot switches, routers and firewalls.
• Work with Cisco networking technologies.
• Support Check Point and wider network security environments.
• Work with SD-WAN infrastructure.
• Build and commission physical servers.
• Install and configure Linux server environments.
• Support virtualised environments.
• Server patching and general infrastructure maintenance.
• Troubleshoot network, server and infrastructure issues.
