Job summary

BRE Group in Watford is seeking a Mechanical Technician and/or HVAC Engineer for a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will work on hands-on modification, construction, and maintenance of HVAC test rigs across metalwork, timber fabrication, wiring, and plumbing.

You will read technical drawings and operate equipment to support experimental testing. Essential experience includes HVAC/mechanical/plumbing work and the ability to work unsupervised, with teamwork as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with HVAC, mechanical or plumbing equipment and applying technical knowledge to resolve issues.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to build and modify test rigs.
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hands-on modification, construction, and maintenance of HVAC test rigs across metalwork, timber fabrication, plumbing, and electrical wiring.
• Interpret and work from technical drawings to build, adapt, and optimise test setups.
• Support experimental and testing programmes by setting up, operating, and adjusting equipment to meet project requirements.
