Job summary

BRE in Watford is seeking an HVAC Technician open to mechanical and plumbing professionals for a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will work hands-on on HVAC test rigs, read drawings, and configure setups to support experimental testing and building performance.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and delivering high-quality results on live systems at our Watford site, with a clear path to professional growth through BRE Academy and related training.

Qualifications

• Experience with HVAC, mechanical or plumbing equipment and applying technical knowledge to resolve issues.
• Ability to work unsupervised across a wide range of disciplines to build rigs.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Self-motivated, focused and capable of working well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hands‑on modification, construction, and maintenance of HVAC test rigs across a range of disciplines.
• Interpret and work from technical and schematic drawings to build, adapt, and optimise test setups.
• Support the delivery of experimental and testing programmes by setting up, operating, and adjusting equipment to meet project requirements.
