Job summary

City of Glasgow College is recruiting a Lecturer in Practical Mechanical/Marine Engineering within the Faculty of Nautical and STEM. The role involves delivering and assessing practical and theoretical subjects at SVQ levels 2 and 3, including fabrication, welding, turning, and maintenance.

An HNC (SCQF level 7) in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject is required. A teaching qualification and/or relevant experience would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must have HNC (SCQF level 7) in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering subject.
• Teaching qualification and/or relevant experience would be advantageous.
• L&D9 and L&D11 for assessing and verification would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess practical and theoretical subjects at SVQ levels 2 and 3.
• Cover mechanical and manufacturing vocational subjects, fabrication, welding, turning operations, and hand-fitting skills; maintenance of mechanical plant.
• Support individual programme students throughout their learning journey.
