Job summary

Supply Desk is assisting a well-established college near Southampton by recruiting a Marine Engineering / Engineering Lecturer for temporary cover. The role spans two full days (Monday and Tuesday) with in-person teaching across classroom and workshop settings, delivering Level 2 Engineering and Marine Technology.

You will support learners toward their qualifications, prepare practical assessments, adapt schemes of work, and maintain a safe workshop.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Level 2 Engineering qualifications.
• Experience with PEO/NVQ qualification would be highly desirable.
• Strong practical workshop and classroom teaching experience.
• Confident managing and supporting classes of approximately 20 students.
• Good understanding of Marine Engineering / Marine Technology.
• Ability to adapt schemes of work and create learning resources.
• Experience preparing students for practical assessments.
• Familiarity with CANVAS or MOODLE would be advantageous.
• Strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
• DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Delivering Level 2 Engineering and Marine Technology sessions.
• Teach across classroom and practical workshop environments.
• Support students working towards their engineering qualifications.
• Prepare learners for practical assessments.
• Adapt schemes of work to meet learner and curriculum requirements.
• Develop engaging learning resources and activities.
• Assess and monitor student progress.
• Complete planning, preparation, assessment and marking.
• Maintain a safe, professional and engaging workshop environment.
