Job summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Instructor to teach in a further education setting in Yorkshire and the Humber. This permanent role invites experienced mechanical engineers to share practical knowledge and guide learners toward their qualifications.

Training and support are provided to help transition into teaching, with a focus on hands-on sessions and real-world context. You do not need prior teaching experience; candidates with industry backgrounds will be supported to develop

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering.
• Significant industry experience in mechanical engineering.
• Strong practical skills across core mechanical engineering disciplines.
• Good communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Genuine interest in supporting and developing learners.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver practical and theoretical mechanical engineering sessions.
• Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain records of learner achievement and progress.
• Ensure workshop and classroom environments meet health and safety standards.
• Support learners to develop skills to meet qualification standards.
