Job summary

SimWest Engineering Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established machinery manufacturer in Blackburn. This office-based role offers exposure to complete bespoke machinery, from concept to real-world build, with salaries between £37,000 and £42,000 DOE plus benefits.

You’ll design bespoke machinery and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor, produce detailed fabrication drawings and manage BOMs, while working closely with production, projects

Qualifications

• Solid background in mechanical design within manufacturing.
• Experience designing machinery or equipment.
• Ability to produce accurate manufacturing drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design bespoke machinery and assemblies.
• Produce detailed manufacturing and fabrication drawings.
• Create and maintain bills of materials and manage drawings in a PDM system.
• Support production during manufacture and assembly.
• Collaborate with other departments to keep projects moving.
