Job summary

SJS Recruitment is partnering with an established, operationally complex business in the South/South West England to appoint a commercially strong Managing Director who will lead the next stage of its development.

This is not an armchair leadership position. In the first 6–12 months you will get close to the business—its people, customers and operations—and create greater clarity, pace and accountability across the organisation.

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a large, operationally complex business.
• Track record of improving profitability and commercial performance.

• Lead and develop the senior leadership team with clear responsibilities and accountability.
• Drive a positive, engaged, and performance-led culture.
• Improve profitability through strong commercial judgment, financial discipline and operational efficiency.
• Enhance operational effectiveness, productivity and customer service.
• Make data-led decisions and challenge established ways of working.
• Define a clear customer proposition and shape future commercial strategy.
• Build an organisation capable of delivering consistently without heavy reliance on the MD.
