Unite Group is seeking a Maintenance Operative to keep student accommodation properties safe, well maintained and running smoothly. You will perform hands-on maintenance tasks and support inspections as part of the property team, ensuring residents have a safe and comfortable environment.

This role suits someone practical and proactive, who enjoys problem solving and working with their hands. You’ll work with a collaborative team and contribute to high standards across buildings.

Qualifications

• Practical skills and willingness to learn.
• Experience in maintenance, facilities or property maintenance.
• Ability to perform general repairs.
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Team player who can work independently.
• Good communication and customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hands-on reactive maintenance tasks and resolve issues promptly and to a high standard.
• Support planned maintenance and inspections to keep buildings safe and operational.
• Maintain high property standards and perform low-level repairs across communal areas.
• Support health and safety compliance and safe working practices.
• Respond to maintenance requests and resident queries promptly and professionally.
• Identify and report maintenance or safety issues and ensure they are logged.
• Assist on emergency response as a first-line responder when required.
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide operational support across the property.
