Job summary

Mainstay Recruitment Solutions Ltd in Aldridge, West Midlands, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to maintain UPVC fabrication and production machinery. The role is hands-on, varied and focused on preventing downtime and keeping production moving.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, perform planned maintenance, and support site services. A full UK driving licence and UPVC equipment experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a Maintenance Engineer role.
• Strong mechanical maintenance, fault-finding and repair experience.
• Good electrical fault-finding ability.
• Experience maintaining industrial or production machinery.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals and equipment documentation.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience with UPVC fabrication equipment would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across UPVC fabrication and production machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns and faults.
• Maintain specialist fabrication equipment including saws, routing and welding machinery.
• Support installation, commissioning and relocation of machinery.
• Keep maintenance records and service schedules up to date.
• Coordinate with suppliers and external contractors as needed.
• Assist site services like lighting, heating and utilities.
