Job summary

Eastgate Engineering in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on HR Manager to run the day-to-day people function, supporting project and site teams with practical, sector-relevant HR experience. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will own the HR function end-to-end, manage the HR team, handle employee relations with discretion, and design policies that fit a project-delivery business across sites.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in delivering HR for a hands-on, site-based business.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and sector agreements.
• Experience with employee relations, disciplinary and performance matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the HR team and ensure delivery.
• Handle employee relations fairly and professionally across sites and offices.
• Partner with project and site leaders for workforce planning across sectors.
• Design and embed practical HR policies and procedures for a mid-sized business.
• Own recruitment and resourcing for office and site-based roles.
• Manage pay and terms for site-based employees, aware of NAECI where relevant.
• Drive engagement, culture and retention aligned with a delivery-focused business.
• Ensure HR compliance and coordinate with HSQE on people-related safety matters.
• Report HR metrics and workforce risks to senior leadership.
• Understand site culture, pressures and the workforce Eastgate employs.
