Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking an Engineering Manager for a highly technical, precision-engineering business in South Yorkshire. The role is hands-on and leads a small engineering/design team, balancing design direction with practical shop-floor involvement.

You will stay technically active, working with engineering, production, planning, projects and customers to deliver robust, commercially viable engineering solutions and oversee ISO, HSE and asset responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Background in mechanical engineering, with hands-on design experience.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop engineers.
• Familiarity with ISO, risk assessment and quality systems.
• Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small multi-disciplinary engineering/design team and provide technical direction.
• Drive best practices and ensure robust, manufacturable designs.
• Oversee workload and delivery across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with production to improve transfer from design to manufacturing.
• Provide technical oversight and risk management across projects.
• Support customers and senior management on technical and commercial matters.
