Job summary

Forged Solutions Group in Darley Dale is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead maintenance and reliability, owning CAPEX and the major maintenance programme, reporting to the Head of Operations. You will drive TPM, Autonomous Maintenance and Planned Maintenance, embed safety standards, and improve asset performance while managing engineers, technicians and apprentices in a days-based, on-site role.

Qualifications

• HNC or HND in an engineering discipline; IEng registration desirable.
• Proven engineering leadership experience within heavy industry or process manufacturing.
• Strong track record delivering CAPEX and maintenance budgets.
• Solid understanding of TPM and continuous improvement frameworks.
• Experience within ISO9001 and ISO45001 environments.
• Familiar with permit to work systems.
• Calm, resilient leader who develops and supports their team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site's engineering and maintenance function, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and internal standards.
• Own delivery of the CAPEX and major maintenance programme.
• Roll out TPM, Autonomous Maintenance and Planned Maintenance strategies to improve reliability.
• Act as Duty Holder for statutory engineering compliance.
• Manage and develop the maintenance team, including engineers, technicians and apprentices.
• Apply a structured project management methodology across all engineering projects.
• Work cross functionally to embed engineering safety standards and improve asset performance.

Job description

Elevation Recruitment Group are excited to be exclusively partnered with Forged Solutions Group, a well established heavy engineering and manufacturing business in Darley Dale, who are looking to appoint an Engineering Manager to take ownership of their maintenance and reliability function.

The Engineering Manager will report to the Head of Operations and sit within the senior leadership team, taking full accountability for maintenance, reliability, statutory compliance and capital projects, and leading a team of engineers, technicians and apprentices.

This is more than managing a maintenance team. It is about raising standards, embedding a preventative maintenance culture and building a project pipeline that supports production and long term investment.

Working Hours: Days based, Monday to Friday

Duties of the Engineering Manager will include:

• Leading the site's engineering and maintenance function, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and internal standards
• Owning delivery of the CAPEX and major maintenance programme
• Rolling out TPM, Autonomous Maintenance and Planned Maintenance strategies to improve reliability
• Acting as Duty Holder for statutory engineering compliance
• Managing and developing the maintenance team, including engineers, technicians and apprentices
• Applying a structured project management methodology across all engineering projects
• Working cross functionally to embed engineering safety standards and improve asset performance

Requirements of the Engineering Manager:

• HNC or HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline, IEng registration desirable
• Proven engineering leadership experience within heavy industry or a process manufacturing environment
• Strong track record managing CAPEX and maintenance budgets
• Solid understanding of TPM, WCOM or similar continuous improvement frameworks
• Experience working within ISO9001 and ISO45001 certified environments
• Familiar with permit to work systems
• A calm, resilient leader who can hold people to account while developing and supporting their team

This role is commutable from: Matlock, Chesterfield, Derby, Sheffield, Buxton, Bakewell, Belper and Ripley.
