Job summary

Pertemps is seeking a practical Maintenance Operative to join a busy depot in Kilsyth on a full-time temp-to-perm contract, paying £14.50 per hour. The role runs Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:30 and Friday 15:30 finish, with duties covering general maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and upkeep across the site.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance, facilities or construction experience.
• Practical plumbing/joinery/decorating or electrical work.
• Good health and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance, repairs and refurbishment across the depot.
• Undertake basic plumbing, joinery, decorating and electrical work.
• Maintain buildings, workshops, yard areas, drains, signage and utilities.
• Support the safe unloading, storage and positioning of materials.
• Operate plant and equipment when trained and authorised.
• Complete workplace risk assessments and follow health & safety procedures.
• Monitor skips, water usage and general depot facilities.
• Carry out weekly workshop fire alarm checks.
• Support and supervise contractors when required.
• Identify maintenance issues and arrange repairs as needed.
