Job summary

Pareto FM is seeking an experienced Building Services Engineer to join our site team in Greater London. You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of mechanical and electrical building services, including HVAC, BMS and compliance tasks.

You’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and regular inspections, working with the Contract Manager and wider teams to ensure safety, efficiency and reliability of the site systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in Building Services, Facilities Management or M&E maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
• Good communication and client-focused approach.
• Ability to work safely and maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) across mechanical and electrical plant and building services.
• Responding to reactive faults and breakdowns, carrying out fault finding and repairs.
• Using the BMS for first-line diagnostics, responding to alarms and maintaining HVAC conditions.
• Completing PPM records accurately, including photographic evidence where required.
• Maintaining site logbooks and records covering electrical, mechanical, water, health & safety and statutory compliance.
• Identifying and escalating defects, hazards and any statutory maintenance that cannot be completed.
• Carrying out start-up, shutdown and routine operational checks.
• Regular plant-room and building-services inspections.
• Carrying out maintenance, repairs and small installation works.
• Reviewing and monitoring specialist subcontractors on site.
• Completing test reports, service reports and other compliance documentation.
• Safely isolating electrical and pressure systems as required.
• Communicating clearly with the client, end users, Contract Manager, Contract Support and other engineers.
• Maintaining clean, safe and well-organised plant areas.
