Job summary

Halfords Autocentre in Oxford is offering an Apprenticeship for a trainee Auto Vehicle Technician. You will learn safety and engineering fundamentals, then progress through vehicle inspection, servicing, maintenance and diagnostics on a range of makes and models.

You will work in a busy Autocentre, gaining practical experience while attending college, with a focus on problem solving, teamwork and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• GCSEs Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalents).
• Friendly, team-oriented person with a strong desire to build a career as an Auto Vehicle Technician.
• Interest in cars and solving problems; able to work hands-on with manual tasks; knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance.
• Enjoys fixing problems with cars and has basic knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

• Learn workplace safety, engineering skills and vehicle inspection.
• Carry out servicing, inspections and repair work across various car models.
• Develop diagnostic capability using relevant equipment and methods.
• Work both independently and as part of a workshop team to support business operations.
