Job summary

Halfords Autocentre is offering an apprentice position in the UK, where you will gain hands-on experience across servicing, inspections and diagnostics on a variety of vehicles. You’ll learn to diagnose faults, perform maintenance and work with colleagues to deliver high standards.

The programme emphasises safety, practical engineering skills and teamwork, with day-release college and a 40-hour workweek across 6/7 days. Excellent career development and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above (Or Equivalents).
• Interest in cars and solving problems.
• Friendly, helpful, team-oriented with a desire to build a career as an Auto Vehicle Technician.
• Able to work hands-on and handle manual work.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance.
• Enjoys fixing problems with cars.
• Knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair vehicles to high standards in a busy Autocentre.
• Gain knowledge of workplace safety, engineering skills and vehicle inspection.
• Servicing, maintenance, repair and diagnosing faults across engine, chassis and electrical systems.
• Collaborate with colleagues and mentors to develop practical skills.
• Support daily workshop operations and adapt to varied vehicle makes.
