Job summary

St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist in hand therapy. You will provide specialised rehabilitation for hand trauma and chronic conditions, including splint fabrication, exercise prescription, scar and oedema management and functional rehab.

The role includes teaching and learning with new and rotating staff, supervision of students, clinical audits and service development.

Qualifications

• Experience in hand therapy is required or desirable.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary outpatient team.
• Commitment to teaching and clinical audit activities.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat hand therapy patients with splinting, exercises and functional rehab.
• Provide scar and oedema management and tailor treatment plans.
• Support supervision of students and contribute to teaching sessions.
• Participate in clinical audits and service development projects.
• Manage a caseload of acute hand trauma and routine hand conditions; paediatric cases may arise.
