Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join the Haematology and Transfusion team. The role involves performing Haematology and Blood Transfusion analyses and supporting patient care within a busy laboratory.

HCPC registered biomedical scientists with IBMS Specialist Portfolio and at least 2 years post-registration experience are preferred. Experience with Biorad IH500 and transitional experience with LIMS (Winpath) is advantageous.

Qualifikationen

• BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Biomedical Sciences.
• Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Biomedical Scientist.
• Be able to demonstrate a broad level of Haematology and Blood Transfusion specialist knowledge and practical experience by possession of an IBMS Specialist Portfolio or equivalent.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

Aufgaben

• Carry out Haematology and Blood Transfusion investigations on samples of blood and body fluids to aid diagnosis and monitor treatment.
• Provide specialist advice to clinicians regarding test appropriateness and timescales.
• Supervise, train and guide laboratory staff as required.
• Deputise for Senior Biomedical Scientists as required.
• Contribute to departmental quality standards and regulatory compliance.
