Job summary

The University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join the Haematology and Blood Transfusion sections of Blood Sciences. The post is based at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital with rotation to Poole Local Services Laboratory, on a 24/7 shift pattern.

The ideal candidate will hold a BSc in Biomedical Science, be HCPC registered as a Biomedical Scientist, and have completed the IBMS Specialist Portfolio (Haematology & Transfusion) or have equivalent

Qualifications

• BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent required.
• HCPC registration as BMS essential.
• IBMS Specialist Portfolio (Haematology and Transfusion) or equivalent experience at Band 6.
• Evidence of CPD to be demonstrated at interview.

Responsibilities

• Rotate across Haematology and Blood Transfusion sections.
• Work on a 24/7 shift system.
• Provide professional biomedical science services across testing and diagnostics.
• Support service development and training opportunities.
