Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking a part‑time Senior Biomedical Scientist to join the Transfusion team within the Pathology service. The role requires HCPC Registration, with at least 3 years post‑registration experience in a clinical lab, and an MSc or IBMS Masters level qualification in Biomedical Science.

Experience in Blood Transfusion is highly desirable. The successful candidate will contribute to Haematology and Blood Transfusion investigations, support regulatory

• Assisting in providing reliable and accurate analytical data for the Trust per ISO 15189/MHRA requirements.
• Work in a team of Biomedical Scientists to deliver a patient‑orientated laboratory service within budget.
• Demonstrate an exemplary standard of work, including supervision, training and guidance of staff.
• Provide specialist advice to clinicians on test appropriateness and timescales.
• Support ongoing achievement of departmental quality standards.
• Develop specialist knowledge in Transfusion with HCPC registration and IBMS Masters level qualification or equivalent.
• Participate in department working patterns to ensure a safe and effective service.
• Deputise for Operational Manager as required.
