Job summary

University Hospitals Tees is seeking HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists to join the Blood Transfusion and Haematology teams across TVPS sites including North Tees, Hartlepool, James Cook and the Friarage.

Band 6 posts require HCPC state registration, an IBMS Specialist Portfolio, and experience across core and non-core hours. Newly qualified HCPC candidates may be considered for Band 5. The role includes leading workload targets and supporting staff training, with out-of-hours work likely.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with appropriate experience in Blood Transfusion and Haematology.
• IBMS Specialist Portfolio required for Band 6; newly qualified HCPC candidates may be considered at Band 5.
• Experience working across core and non-core hours in Haematology/Blood Transfusion is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analyse pathology samples and provide technically accurate results.
• Lead in achieving daily workload targets with effective prioritisation.
• Support integration of Haematology into Pathology from staff, IT and technology perspectives.
• Participate in training and development of new, trainee or support staff.
